Located in a small town in central Georgia, a couple of hours outside of Atlanta, this compounding pharmacy operates within a strip medical plaza alongside four other health-related practices. The pharmacy processes approximately 150 prescriptions per week, generating over $1.3 million in annual P&L sales over the past twelve months, with a net income of $461,500 after reasonable P&L add-backs. Revenues have more than doubled in 2024 as compared to 2023. Approximately 98% of prescriptions are cash transactions, with OTC sales contributing an additional $135,000 annually. The pharmacy occupies a leased 3,500-square-foot space and has been experiencing steady growth since opening in 2021. While it does not dispense Schedule II-controlled substances, controlled medications make up about 35% of total prescriptions. All prescriptions are compounded, with 65% being non-sterile and 35% sterile. Sterile compounds are processed through a central fill pharmacy in full compliance with Georgia Board of Pharmacy (GA BOP) regulations. Approximately 20% of prescriptions fall under the GLP-1 category. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday and remains closed on weekends. The current owners are looking to exit the retail pharmacy business to focus on family and pursue non-pharmacy-related interests. The business handles minimal deliveries, has less than 1% Medicaid transactions, does not offer special packaging, and does not participate in the 340B program.
